Announcements:
Have a great night! Today we had an extended homeroom to play some games as a class. After homeroom, the 4th graders finished up their testing (Language Usage). We kept practicing bar models in math, then read about the Oregon Trail in History class. New seating arrangement today! Homework:
Happy Tuesday!
Today, 4th grade started the day with writing with Mr. Wimbush. They continued learning about earthquakes in Science with Ms. Julia. They learned about cause and effect in reading class, and also continued working on writing complete sentences when answering questions. In math, students used discs to start learning how to create bar models. Students received their AR goals today and got their logins. Hitting their reading goal is a major part of their reading grade. I will send out more details regarding AR in an email later today. The only homework for the day is Voyages page 48 (the second half of yesterday's lesson), as well as reading 20 minutes. Happy Monday!
Today we began Chapter 2 in math, which included a review of adding and subtracting. We learned about antecedents and pronouns in Language Arts and began a new Roald Dahl book in reading class. Homework:
Happy Friday!
The fourth graders did a GREAT job of practicing patience today. They had a spelling test and their NWEA math test. They ended the day with our weekly raffle. Congrats to this week's winners! Students also got to see their graded math tests from yesterday. Grades are updated in Educate. If you need help logging in to your Educate account, send me an email and I will help you get started! NO homework for the weekend except to try to squeeze some reading in, and bring back completed reading logs on MONDAY. Another great day in 4th grade! Students had mass, gym with Ms. Julia, and then worked on main idea again in reading class. In math we reviewed for the test which is TOMORROW. We also spent some time practicing spelling words.
