Dear Kindergarten Families,
It was a wonderful week to introduce working in our history and science journals. Our journals are used to complete the following activities:
* Learn about the presidents of the United States
*Explore each of the "Fifty Nifty United States"
*Experience the scientific method through science experiements
These activities have been the highlight of our week. It is fun to hear the students plead to learn more about each topic. We look forward to continuing these activities throughout the school year.
Here are the songs we are using to enhance our history and science lessons:
* Presidents of the US Song

*The Scientific Method Song

We are so proud of our kindergarteners for being "caught" practicing the gift of VIRTUE by other teachers. The class earned a VIRTUE celebration for being good citizens of our school. The celebration included our first entry in our science journals; we conducted an experiment by making ice cream using ice and salt. It was a great success and students enjoyed "sampling" their work.
Please remember the following events for next week:
Upcoming Activities:
(see handout in sent home in student backpack today)
- We will play games counting to 100 - and other fun activities
- Students can bring Valentines for their classmates (20 students)
- We will have a small class party and celebrate St. Valentine
This picture is an example of ways we dressed up for the 100th day of school.
