Rake -A -Thon Details - Let's DO THIS!!!
Dear Kindergarten Families,
We have worked so hard to learn the meaning of VIRTUE in our kindergarten classroom. There is no better way to demonstrate the meaning of virtue than participating in our annual Rake. - A - Thon fundraiser!
On Saturday, October 28th, 2023, Saint Raphael students, families, and teachers will rake the yards of people in our community who need our help. This is such a beautiful way to shine Jesus from our hearts!
Here is what you need to know for the big day:
- Join us for 8am mass at Saint Raphael Catholic Church
- Immediately following mass, check in for yard assignments at the tables located outside of the school office.
- Meet us by the baseball fields for a group photo and blessing from Father Hagen.
- Head out to our designated yard assignments (each family is organized into a large group of families (about 20 people in each group). We usually are assigned two houses per group.
cleaned up very quickly with all hands on deck!
- Join us for lunch in the cafeteria following yard assignments!
Here is what to bring:
- Wear your rake - a - thon t-shirt!
- Bring rakes, gloves, leaf blower (if you have one), leaf bags are provided
- Dress warm - We will be raking yards rain or shine!
- Bring rakes, gloves, leaf blower (if you have one)
The FUNDRAISING details:
- Each student is asked to raise $150 towards our all school goal of $25,000 (this fundraiser goes to the Mr. Johnson scholarship fund to assist Catholic School families with affordable tuition opportunities).
- Asking for pledges / donations from family, friends, and even strangers can be a humbling experience! Let the Holy Spirit speak from your heart by sharing the beauty of Saint Raphael Catholic School.
- Try using the following script:
- Be creative - send letters / pictures, make phone calls, create emails, send group text messages, knock on doors within your neighborhood!
- Invite everyone to use the easy online link: www.straphaelcrystal.org
*Scroll down to select "Rake A Thon"
*Locate the Memo box and be sure to enter your child's name to
ensure the donation is credited to your child's fundraising goal.
- Send all pledges to school in a sealed envelope (checks can be made payable to Saint Raphael Catholic School and note in the memo: Rake A Thon) each Monday throughout the month of October!
- Students can wear their Rake - A - Thon t-shirts, along with their uniform pants, every Monday for the remaining weeks of October!
Additional ways to earn donations:
- Join us at 8:30 or 10:30 mass to meet and greet the Saint Raphael Parish Members who love your children!
- Student volunteers are needed before and after each mass to meet / greet / thank parishioners, collect prayer intentions and donation envelopes.
